This striking project is part of a new €32 million RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) Education and Research Centre at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
Designed by McCauley Daye O'Connell Architects and constructed by Felix O'Hare & Co. Ltd, alongside installer Ard Contracts, the three-storey building has two interlocking blocks for student, academic and administration functions with a communal atrium linking both. Ecophon Solo™ Baffle in colour Wet Sand has been used as a coherent design feature running through all parts of the building.
The centre is hoped to greatly enhance the student experience for the Graduate Entry Medicine students based at Connolly and for all other RCSI students while on clinical rotations at the hospital. Along with tutorial rooms and a large lecture theatre, it includes a mock operating theatre, practical skills rooms and a large public area.
We are proud to have been part of this project where several departments at Ecophon UK & Ireland collaborated with the main contractor to tackle challenges and meet the high-quality finish required.
