New Work in a traditional building with collaboration, participation and self-determination
The "Haus am Schottentor" will become a New Work Base - a modern working environment in the heart of Vienna according to the motto "New Work with New Office".
Around 300 employees will have access to 5,500 square metres on two floors, as well as three galleries and two roof terraces. The workplaces are divided into different rooms and areas, and the employees can choose where they want to work every day and where collaboration, learning, communication and concentration work in the New Work Base is most effective. The aim was to make the dynamics of the company visible in this venerable building.
A good working environment needs good acoustics
In order to ensure the necessary room acoustics for a wide range of activities in this dynamic environment, an Ecophon acoustic ceiling was installed. Ecophon Master™ SQ is an acoustic ceiling specially designed for open office environments and all other areas where the requirements for good acoustics and speech intelligibility are particularly high. The 40 mm thick panels are glued directly to the bare ceiling and remain visually unobtrusive. This results in an almost invisible, yet very effective acoustic measure.
"The requirements for a New Work Office are very different from the classic office concepts. With our design, we want to promote and motivate creativity and give a face to the diversity of NEW WORK SE. This is the only way we can offer and plan perfect, future-proof working environments," says Daniel Sieber, architect of the New Work Base from the Hungenberg Sieber planning office in Berlin.
