Inspired by the mine and nearby nature, Kunskapshuset in Gällivare was created. With the huge social transformation taking place in Gällivare, several schools have been merged and moved into Kunskapshuset.
The school is built for high school students but is also a learning centre for adults. They have created a flexible school that is equipped for the future with fantastic acoustics in all parts of the school.
The school was nominated for the Kasper Salin Prize (a Swedish Architect award) in 2020.
Kunskapshuset was the winner of Guldstolen 2021 award, the Swedish Architects' award for best interior design of the year.
