The new Tampere Psychiatric Clinic started operating in early 2024, replacing the previous psychiatric care facility: an over 120-year-old pavilion hospital in Nokia’s Pitkäniemi. With a total area of 29,000 gross m2, the building contains adult psychiatry wards, outpatient clinics, multipurpose facilities, staff workspaces and parking space. There are a total of 184 beds.

The design of the new building reflects the principles of modern psychiatric care. The architecture emphasises human scale and the therapeutic effects of natural light and views. The hospital area features several courtyards and carefully planned landscaping.

Over 10,000 m2 of Ecophon acoustic solutions have been used in the new building, for example impact resistant Ecophon Super G™ tiles in patient rooms and Ecophon Hygiene Meditec™ and Ecophon Hygiene Advance™ acoustic panels in spaces with hygiene demands. The acoustic design creates a soft soundscape that absorbs louder noises and fosters a soothing atmosphere.
