A house with unique acoustics

Ecophon develops and sells acoustic systems that contribute to the improvement of acoustic comfort, primarily in public buildings. Residential projects, such as single-family houses, are definitely less common.

When planning the construction of their dream house in Silesian Wilamowice, Anastazja and Paweł Kowalczyk knew exactly what it should look like, what functions it should perform and what they personally care about. In addition to the ergonomics and functionality of the rooms, the acoustics of their new home were also important. During several meetings with Ecophon's representative, they emphasized that they really like listening to music that accompanies them throughout the day and that they dream of a living room where the whole family will spend their free time.

It was also important that the sounds from the living room did not spread throughout the house. Speech intelligibility in such a large open space was also significant. The design of the house was made by Michał Kościelny from the Lobo architectural studio and the Kowalczyk couple. The concept assumed the use of the highest quality materials. For the acoustic arrangement of the house, 168 pieces of free-hanging vertical Ecophon Solo™ Baffle ceiling tiles were used, which perfectly match the atmosphere of the interior, also ensuring the appropriate soundproofing. The Ecophon Focus™ Lp ceiling system in the corridor made it possible to reduce the high reverberation characteristic of such a building shape. Ecophon Focus™ Levels of different thicknesses were installed on the walls to reduce horizontal reflections.

The implementation of this project brought us a lot of satisfaction, especially the sales manager Bartosz Knapik, who was personally involved in the project, enjoyed the effects together with the owners.
