Great acoustics with re-used ceiling panels

When an energy company in Wrocław, Poland, was going to renovate its office, a "less waste" approach was taken.

“It might seem that recovering building materials would be much more difficult, but it quickly turned out that this was not the case. Thanks to thoughtful changes to the old arrangement, we managed to keep most of the plasterboard partition walls, all doors and glass walls. When designing the interior, we partly used existing furniture and good quality furniture previously used in other offices of the tenant. In total, about 80% of the furniture gained a second life”, explains Daria Żarnoch from the Workplace design team.

For the designers, a big but positive surprise was the condition of the previously used modular and free-hanging acoustic ceilings, which were as new. Some of the re-used Ecophon Solo™ panels were printed to give them a new look and fit into the new design of the office.

The revitalisation project of the office was nominated for the Property Design Awards 2024 in the Design interiors office category.
