The Abraham Moss Library & Leisure Centre project presented significant acoustic challenges, combining functions that traditionally would be separated due to the technical requirements of the spaces.

Placing a gym above a library required a collaborative effort and heavily relied on our specialist knowledge of Ecophon products to achieve the necessary acoustic separation.

For the sports hall, which serves as the only Urban Cricket Hub in the North of England (funded by the English Cricket Board), we provided impact-resistant robust products, specifically Ecophon Akusto™ Wall C with Super G surface. In the swimming halls, where chlorine and humidity resistance were essential, we utilised C4 grid and fixings, along with Ecophon Solo™ Rectangle with Akutex™ HS finish.

Our team at Ecophon worked closely with the project team, ensuring that technical solutions were found to overcome the acoustic challenges of this project.
