Acoustic solutions
for hotel areas

In the hotel business, satisfied guests are of the utmost importance. Good service and appealing visual design contribute to high comfort and a welcoming environment. However the acoustic design also plays a major role in a positive guest experience. Unwanted noise from corridors and other areas can be perceived as disturbing for guests and negatively affect their stay and perception of the hotel. A well-planned acoustic design reduces noise and facilitates positive interactions and conversations between guests and guests and staff. With Ecophon's solutions, it is possible to combine good acoustic experiences with beautiful visual effects. When the opportunity is there, why not consider both?

LOBBY

The lobby is the first area guests meet and a good first impression can have a positive impact on the rest of the stay. The design should ideally reflect the character of the hotel and make guests feel welcome. The guests should also be able to easily talk to the staff behind the desk, relax and converse with other guests. Therefore, it is important to reduce noise, create good speech clarity and prevent conversations at the reception or between guests from spreading in the space.

Modern acoustic solutions do not only bring functional advantages. Ecophon acoustic products will also provide you with the tools needed to realise your design and create something beautiful.

A narrow corridor with dark grey brick walls and a patterned carpet with leaf designs. The corridor is lit by recessed ceiling lights and wall-mounted fixtures at each door, creating a warm ambiance. An acoustic ceiling is featured throughout the corridor. At the end of the hallway, there appears to be an elevator with its doors closed.

CORRIDORS

Corridors are often among a hotel's most visited spaces. Here, guests and staff move between different rooms. Meetings between people occur and supplies and materials are transported. Due to their elongated shape, sound travels fast and far and affects rooms that are directly connected to the corridor, causing challenges for guests trying to focus or rest.

In addition, the space above the suspended ceiling sometimes contains pipes and cables for electricity, air, heating and cooling. Therefore, the acoustic solution needs to reduce sound levels, prevent sound from spreading but also provide easy access to installation above it.

RESTAURANT

Good food and service are both important factors for a successful restaurant. In addition a good sound environment is also rated highly by many guests. Without sound absorbing materials, people raise their voices to be heard and the overall noise levels escalate. This is known as the Lombard effect.

A good acoustic environment allows guests to enjoy the food and each other's company, while also supporting the staff with a less stressful working environment. In addition to this, the acoustic elements can enhance the visual design, either by subtly enhancing it or by forming eye-catching elements.

The image conveys a busy yet orderly culinary environment.

KITCHEN

Restaurant kitchens are places where a high noise level easily builds up. Noise from tools, moulds and machines can negatively affect employees, causing fatigue, stress and communication difficulties. In addition, the kitchen is often adjacent to the dining area, and noise from the kitchen can disturb the guests. An acoustic solution needs to be highly efficient in reducing the sound level. At the same time, it must also meet appropriate cleaning methods.

CONFERENCE

The design of a conference area should boost creativity and facilitate inspiring conversations and productive meetings. To support good speaking and listening conditions, it is important to ensure a good speech clarity. Everyone should be able to easily follow and join in the conversations, presentations and discussions. It is also important to prevent the sounds of the meeting from spreading to other parts of the hotel. Ecophon acoustic solutions allow you to create an inspiring design whilst at the same time, ensuring a sound acoustic experience.

GYM

Some people want to be active on their vacation or during business trips, and many hotels have a gym where guests can exercise during their stay. But treadmills or other machines can generate unwanted sounds.

By installing acoustic solutions, the sound level in the gym can be kept on a low level and the risk of unwanted noise spreading to adjacent rooms can be reduced.

SPA AND RELAX

Some hotels have a spa area where guests can relax and enjoy various treatments. This area often consists of hard surfaces between which sound can build up and bounce.

By installing sound absorbers, a pleasant acoustic environment can be created for both guests and staff. In additon, it is important that the acoustic solution can withstand direct water, chloride, high humidity and high temperatures.
