GRIHA certification

GRIHA is India's National Rating System for Green Buildings and evaluates the environmental performance of buildings against certain nationally acceptable benchmarks. We are happy to announce that several Ecophon products are certified and can be used in GRIHA registered projects.

During a buildings life cycle it uses resources in the form of water, energy, materials, etc. It also emits wastes, either directly in the form of municipal wastes or indirectly as emissions from electricity generation. GRIHA strive to minimize its consumptions of resources, waste and overall ecological impact. By quantify different aspects, it is possible to measure and reduce them to best possible level. The evaluation of the building is done holistically over its entire life cycle and is divided into three stages:
