Why is the surface important for the mind?

In our opinion the surface has to contribute to more than just for the eye and the ear. When we develop a new Akutex™ surface we also consider:
- how to handle the product
- how to clean and maintain the surface
- energy consumption in the production process
- indoor climate when the products are installed

Indoor climate
	There are no harmful emissions from the material, in any of the ceiling’s life. Ecophon products bare the Indoor Climate Label, in Finland the M1 emission classification of building materials, and they are recommended by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association. Cleanability
	The unique Akutex Surface Technology ensures that dust and dirt do not adhere to the surface, so cleaning involves a minimum of effort and cost. Installation
	One major advantage for the painted Akutex surface is that it has high scratch and gloss resistance. This means that all tiles with an Akutex surface are robust and well-suited for on-site handling.

Environment
	The Akutex surfaces have been developed to meet the requirements for total recycling. Also, the high light reflection factor of the Akutex surfaces contributes to lower the number of light fittings in the room which result in lower energy consumption. Visual appearance

A ceiling with good light reflectance and good light diffusion reduces the need for installed lighting. This results in improved energy efficiency and a better working environment.

Akutex™ FT

This smooth and attractive surface is available on several Ecophon ceiling tiles. We also offer a reinforced version on our Master Rigid systems.

Akutex™ T

If you would like a particular colour for your Ecophon Solo™ or Ecophon Gedina™ then choose the Akutex™ T surface.

Akutext™ HS

A painted stain protected surface intended for environments where there is a risk of contamination and where frequent wet cleaning is required. The surface has high resistance to most common detergents and disinfectants.

Akutex™ HP

A painted patricle repellent surface intended for environments where there are demands on low partice emission and where occational wet wiping and/or disinfection is required. The surface has high resistance to the most common detergents and disinfectants.

Akutex™ TH

A painted cleanable surface intended for environments where there could be some contamination and cleaning or desinfection is required on a regular basis. This surface is recommended where humidity levels are occasionally high.
