Ecophon has held a series of four Sound Education – international seminars about sound and acoustics in schools - and their influence on teaching and learning. This is stimulating new awareness and debate about a major issue which until now has been largely ignored. Except for key note speaker Julian Treasure, the speakers were local and included key experts in teaching and learning, acoustics, architecture and design. All presentations were filmed and are available here in local languages and subtitled in english.
A new TED talk titled “Why architects need to use their ears” featuring Julian Treasure has recently been released and is a call to action to design spaces for our ears. During his talk Julian highlights the impact of the “Sound Education” events – brought to you by Ecophon. The TED conferences bring together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design and works according to their mission of spreading ideas. Ecophon works persistently to acquire new knowledge and raise awareness of acoustics and sound and its influence on humans. We are honoured that our efforts are recognised and associated with such a forward thinking organisation as TED.
